Millennium Magic’s approach is unique in the world of Sweet Adelines International singing. We do not utilize a front line “director”, but that is not to say we are directionless, in fact, it is quite the contrary. Each and every member of Millennium Magic demonstrates and contributes skills and qualities that enhance the overall ensemble.  Through discipline, teamwork and collaboration, each member contributes to the process and ownership of the musical plan/goals.  We are a finely tuned instrument working together in harmony. We promote and execute an “all teach, all learn” environment through mutual respect and personal responsibility.  We are fortunate to have a wealth of talented musicians and performers in our membership.  We are all directors!  It isn’t always easy, but the results are simply magical.

Contrary to popular belief, becoming a member (and co-director) of Millennium’s singing ensemble simply requires a strong, musical tonal center, self-motivation, and a willingness to practice & learn between weekly rehearsals.  Our audition process is simple, but designed to measure a prospective member’s potential ability to perform in the four general SAI categories of music, showmanship, sound and expression.  We are a learning organization dedicated to musical excellence.  Teamwork and a spirit of cooperation are foundational to our success.  Perhaps one of the keys to our sustained success is the fact that we are a family, literally and figuratively.  We delight in the fact that 50% of our membership is directly related by blood (mothers, daughters, aunts, grandmothers), but we celebrate a family like camaraderie that results from having a shared vision and a commitment to one another.  Our approach is tried and true, producing consistent, award winning music that wows and entertains audiences throughout New England.
